Allah makes the impossible possible

As human beings, we are often faced with challenges and situations that seem impossible to overcome. Whether it’s difficulties in our personal lives, health struggles, or moments of despair, there are times when the obstacles seem insurmountable. However, for Muslims, there is comfort in knowing that Allah is capable of making the impossible possible. His power is limitless, and His mercy knows no bounds.

The Quran is full of reminders that nothing is beyond Allah’s ability. When we turn to Him with sincere faith, trust, and patience, we can witness how Allah opens doors that we never imagined possible.

“For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” (Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5-6)

This verse reminds us that no matter how difficult our circumstances may seem, Allah has the power to provide relief and ease.

1. Allah’s Power Is Absolute

One of the key principles in Islam is belief in the absolute power of Allah. Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and everything within them is under His control. There is nothing that He cannot accomplish, and nothing in the universe occurs without His will.

  • Creation Itself Is a Sign of Allah’s Power: The vastness of the universe, the precision of the stars, the creation of life—these are all reminders that Allah is capable of anything. When we reflect on the wonders of creation, we are reminded of Allah’s immense power and wisdom.

“Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (Surah Al-A’raf 7:54)

  • Miracles as Proof of Allah’s Power: Throughout history, Allah has demonstrated His ability to do the impossible by sending miracles through His prophets. From the parting of the Red Sea for Prophet Musa (Moses) to the miraculous birth of Prophet Isa (Jesus), these events are reminders that Allah can make the impossible happen.

“And [mention] when Musa struck with his staff, and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.” (Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:63)

2. Trusting in Allah’s Plan

Sometimes, when we face difficulties, we may feel like the situation is hopeless. But in Islam, we are taught to place our complete trust in Allah. Even when we don’t understand why something is happening, we must have faith that Allah’s plan is perfect and that He knows what is best for us.

  • Reliance on Allah (Tawakkul): Trusting in Allah is a key part of our faith. When we face challenges that seem impossible to overcome, we should remember that Allah’s wisdom is beyond our understanding. He may place obstacles in our path to test us, to purify us, or to guide us toward something better.

“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.” (Surah At-Talaq 65:3)

  • Patience and Perseverance: Allah often tests us with hardships, but these tests are opportunities for growth and purification. By remaining patient and trusting in Allah’s wisdom, we can overcome even the most difficult challenges.

“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:153)

3. The Power of Dua (Supplication)

One of the most powerful tools that Muslims have is Dua (supplication). When we face a situation that feels impossible, turning to Allah in sincere prayer can bring about miraculous changes. Allah is always listening, and He has the power to change our circumstances in ways we cannot imagine.

  • Dua Can Change Destiny: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that nothing changes destiny except Dua. When we call upon Allah with sincerity, we open the door for His mercy and assistance.

“And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’” (Surah Ghafir 40:60)

  • Allah Loves Those Who Ask of Him: Allah is pleased when His servants turn to Him in times of need. No matter how impossible the situation may seem, we should never hesitate to ask Allah for help. He is the Most Merciful, and He responds to those who sincerely call upon Him.

“Verily, your Lord is generous and shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication), He becomes shy to return them empty.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

4. Real-Life Examples of Allah’s Power

Throughout history, there have been countless examples of Allah making the impossible possible. From the miracles of the prophets to the personal stories of individuals who have experienced divine intervention, these examples remind us of Allah’s limitless power.

  • The Story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham): When Prophet Ibrahim was thrown into a fire by his people for rejecting their idols, Allah made the impossible happen by commanding the fire to be cool and safe for him. What seemed like certain death was turned into a miracle of survival.

“We said, ‘O fire, be coolness and safety upon Ibrahim.’” (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:69)

  • Modern-Day Miracles: Even in modern times, people experience moments when Allah’s power becomes clear. Whether it’s healing from an illness that doctors declared incurable or finding a way out of financial ruin, these moments remind us that nothing is impossible for Allah.

5. Allah’s Mercy and Power Bring Hope

When life becomes overwhelming and challenges seem impossible, it is essential to remember that Allah’s mercy is greater than any hardship we face. No matter how difficult the situation, Allah can provide a way out. His mercy is boundless, and He loves to bring ease to His servants.

  • Hope in Allah’s Mercy: Even in the darkest moments, we should never lose hope in Allah’s mercy. He can turn the most desperate situations around, providing relief and guidance when we least expect it.

“And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?” (Surah Al-Hijr 15:56)

  • Allah’s Ability to Forgive and Heal: Not only can Allah make the impossible possible in our external circumstances, but He can also heal our hearts and forgive our sins. No matter how far we have strayed, Allah’s mercy can bring us back to Him.

“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’” (Surah Az-Zumar 39:53)

Conclusion: Trust in Allah’s Power to Make the Impossible Possible

Allah’s power is limitless, and nothing is beyond His ability. No matter how challenging or impossible a situation may seem, we should always remember that Allah can make a way where there seems to be no way. By placing our trust in Him, making sincere Dua, and being patient in times of hardship, we can witness Allah’s power in our lives.
